About Chef John Tesar

What an amazing year it’s been!  This time last year, construction crews and decorators were putting the finishing touches on the Mansion’s renovation.  There was an incredible buzz of excitement at The Mansion as the restaurant was being unveiled bit by bit and the pieces were coming together.  Part of me didn’t want to leave that excitement for my European odyssey but I knew that incredible food and inspiration awaited.

Now it’s August 2008, and the Mansion has had an incredible year! The restaurant is still a favorite of longtime guests who have enjoyed it since the beginning and we’ve attracted a whole new audience of food lovers. The Mansion received a five-star rating in the Dallas Morning News which was very gratifying for my kitchen crew and me. I have grown as a chef and as a person this year and am grateful for the encouragement and compliments. Thank you! 

Now I will embark on another culinary odyssey and will share with you the many highlights . . . .

    I still dream about your delicious Seafood Salad…daily. If I could have you ship it to me on ice to Houston, I would. During Ike, I stayed at The Mansion for 12 days…the Seafood Salad was consumed on at least ten of them. Bravo!
